Anamalz founder Louise Causon sat down with Matt Johnston for the Herald Sun’s Big V Interview, published across two pages on Saturday 24 October 2026.

The interview follows the story from a doll’s house her father built when she was a child, to a first range of 12 animals taken to the Nuremberg Toy Fair in 2007, and the growth that followed.

I think people either get it or they don’t. The ones that get it, just love it.

— Louise Causon

Getting knocked down, and getting up again

Louise talks openly about the years when a distribution deal collapsed and the business had to start again, and how it was rebuilt with new distributors, the Barnfields farming range and a Christmas collection.

The feature closes with Off the Record, a Q&A on everything from her first job to her dream concert.
