Cow
  1. A heifer is a cow that hasn’t had any babies. As soon as she has popped one out, then she is classed as a cow without the tag of being a heifer
  2. A cow can produce about 200,000 glasses of milk in her lifetime. That should be enough for you and your friend’s breakfast cereals, hot chocolate milks and ice creams for a looooong time!
  3. A cow can smell scents up to six kilometers away. They can smell you before you can smell them……I may have to check this fact!

Animal: Cow

Nickname: Cow

Characteristics:

A cow is a mature female of the bovine animal family. She has many different colors and markings that make her unique including black spots, brown spots and no spots at all: however all cows have an udder that produces milk and they have a very large body supported by 4 skinny legs. Like a barrel on tent poles?

Height:

Cows can grow up to be more than 1.83 meters (6ft) tall. That’s taller than most adults.

Weight:

A cow can be as heavy as 700kg. That is around 10 times heavier than a grown up woman…..give or take a bit of weight!

Where they live:

All over the world and in big numbers

What they eat:

The cow eats lots and lots of grass, wheat bran, and corn. The cow loves the food so much that she will regurgitate (spew up) the food from her stomach and just chew on it some more. eeeeeeeewwwww!
